    2. Lois The Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society is in the process of preparing all the probate records for Vermilion County to be microfilmed. Thus all the records are now at the Society and not at the courthouse. If you wish to obtain copies of his will or what probate records are available, contact them. I believe they are charging $1.00 per page. Since probate records not only contain the will (if one is there), it also contains all the bills submitted by creditors, and records to show that they were paid, list of heirs(sometimes) adminstrative bond or executor's bonr(if a will)Inventory of the decease' estate and if sold, who bought articles, sometimes land records , sometime guardianship papers if minor children (as the wife could not own property and could not be guardian for her own children)so you need to pick and choose what you are interested in, as some files are very long and costly!! I am also working on these records have been imputing all the records in index form. William K Cotton, 10-12-1849 or 12-4-1849 Box 30 Case #7. (You will need this if you want his records) If others on this list read this, we are only at 1853 at present. But you will need to know what Box and case # the person is to be found as we don't have any index . That's available at the courthouse. We also have from 1899 to 1931 completed also. HOpe this helps Granny
