Mrs. Norton was born May 9, 1925 in Rossville, the daughter of Porter and Lela Foster Vliet. She married Myron Norton in Rossville on Dec. 27, 1945. He preceded her in death in April 1975. A sister, Delores (Norlyn) Dossey of Danville survives. She was pre-ceded in death by a sister, Portia Smith, and her parents. Mrs. Norton retired from the U.S. Attorney's Office. She also worked as a secretary at the Danville VA Hospital. She was a member of the An-tioch Church of Christ in Rossville. She was a past president of the Historical Society and was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was also the Mayor of Rossville in the mid-1980s. Mrs. Norton enjoyed playing bridge. She wrote books for the Historical Society. She enjoyed the study of genealogy and was an accomplished musician, playing the organ and piano. She also had done extensive traveling throughout the United States and Europe. There will be a private service for the family with burial at the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville.
