To Mark J. Mondt Interested in your Moses Hicks. I have a Moses Hicks b. 1795 Virginia, son of Samuel; wife is Susan Childress, that is a branch off my husband's direct line. That is all I do have on him unfortunately. Moses had a brother Steen who also had a son by the name of Moses b. 1848 Indiana, again that is all I have on him. Anything that might fit? My husband's family is from around Owen County, Indiana and some of them moved to Monticello and White Heath, Ill area. My husband's family lived around Broadlands, Champaign Co., IL and Rankin, Vermilion County, IL, then moved to Hoopeston, Vermilion Co., IL after his dad retired from dairy farming. If you know any siblings of Moses, I could check to see if this is the same branch. When we finally stumbled across his marriage certificate in Iowa, we were startled to see the listing of William's parents. Does anyone have any information on this couple? Was William Hicks illegitimately born and later adopted? We know William came to consider a Cornelius Jordan as his father later in life. Cornelius and family did pass through Illinois around this time, but I've been unable to locate Cornelius Jordan and family in the Danville area around 1868. Any help would be much appreciated. > > > ==== ILVERMIL Mailing List ==== > "The Past, and Present, Building a Future for Our Children." > Kristie Setser- List Admin. > http://www.gentrails.com/vermil.shtml > http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilvermil > > ============================== > You can manage your RootsWeb-Review subscription from > http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/ > > > >
