Pat was born on Dec. 6, 1930, in Rossville, the daughter of Frances and Blanche (Borders) Borror. She married Clarence Edgar Keister on July 1, 1955, in Danville. He survives. She also is survived by: her daughter, Cathy (Nate) Rife of Crescent City, Fla., her son, Ed (Cassie) Keister of Danville; her daughter Ruth (Brad) Pantaleo of Danville; two brothers, Ken (Violet) Borror of Ellenwood, Kan., and Frank 'B.B.' (Jan) Borror of East Peoria; a sister, Sue (Gordon) Boldt of Morris; grandchildren Ethan, Derek (Tara) and Samantha Rife, and William, Jake and Abby Keister; great-grandchild Trista Lynn Rife and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pat graduated from Rossville High School in 1948, later attending Lakeview School of Nursing to answer her calling in life. She loved her job, eventually training many other nurses along the way. Pat spent nearly all of her more than 40 years of nursing at Lakeview Hospital in obstetrics. Special thanks go out to the parents of the babies she watched over for providing countless memories for her and her family. Her dedication to nursing and the children was unparalleled. Besides her love for nursing, Pat also had a love for nature, especially birds, which led her to become a member of the Audubon Society. Or, if not out bird watching, she would enjoy a crossword or sudoku puzzle. A celebration of the life of Delores 'Pat' Keister will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Danville, with Pastor Greg Boldt officiating. Visitation will be the evening prior from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 28, 2007, also at the funeral home. Burial will be following the service at Rossville Cemetery in Rossville. Memorials may be made to the Audubon Society or to Provena's Cancer Center.
