Bk 7, p60. Re: Felts, Columbus H - Author: James A. Jones 22 Dec 2001 The 1850 Census of Carroll County, Virginia, page 97, list as follows. 1. John Felts, 22, Male, Farmer 2. Polly Felts, 25, Female, with 2 children, a. Columbus H. 1 YEAR OLD, and Randal 2/12 Months. James A. Jones (auphilis@aol.com). Re: Felts, Columbus H Janine Butner Date: 27 Jul 2003 gbutner@succeed.net - I came across the old postings for this individual. I believe this person to be my gg-grandfather, but at this point I am going on a hypothesis as not all the records are available to me. I believe this to be Columbus Hughston Felts born in Carroll, VA in 1848/9 to John Felts and Polly (or Mary) Jackson. I believe he is also the person listed as Houston Felts who joined Company E, 45th Inf. Reg VA on 1/23/1864 at the age of 16. I believe he married Sarah Davis in Gallia, OH on 12/14/1869. This marriage had 3 sons that I am sure of: Earl Ralph (b: 6/17/1872 KY), Clarence Arthur (b: 6/19/1878 IN), and Roscoe (b: 2/23/1885 in Logan, Edgar Co, IL). My grandmother believe there were a few other children born to Columbus Houston Felts and Sarah Davis. (Sarah had been married twice after Felts and had two new sets of children so I guess it may have been confusing for her). My grandmother tells me that both Sarah and Felts were! married multiple times. Sarah went on to marry Mr. Shaw before 1889 and Mr. Lloyd before 1892. Back to Columbus Houston Felts, I believe the same individual above went on to marry Rachel Clark in Edgar Co, IL on 4/24/1889 (she later marrying Otis Parish in 1895 also in Edgar Co) and then Almira Allison in Vermillion Co, IN in 1895. Any information that you may have on any of these individuals would be greatly appreciated. As I stated I am trying to prove this is all the same person and any leads would be helpful.
