She was born on Aug. 25, 1913, in Fountain County, Ind., to the late William and Hettie Pierson. A graduate of Hoopeston High School, she married in 1937 to John R. Paulson of Rossville, her husband of 67 years until his death in 2003. For more than 35 years Mrs. Paulson taught piano lessons from her home in Rossville and performed as the organist for the United Methodist Church. An avid lover of nature and animals, Mrs. Paulson enjoyed her daily walks through Chrisman Park. She is survived by her son and his wife, John and Linda Paulson of Point Reyes Station, Calif.; and her two nieces, Barbara and Margo Carmichael. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Carmichael.
