He was listed as a carpenter on 1860 census St. Francis Co. AR. Your help is greatly appreciated or any information. I also would appreciate a look up for Mary Mathews Menoher Leslie, died Dec. 1, 1880 at Rankin, IL. Her son-in-law, James Templeton Torrence, was a minister of a probably Presbyterian Church in that area before this time. His wife was Sarah Isabel Leslie Torrence. On the 1880 census, she was living with her daughter, Mary Wade. Her daughter, Elizabeth Ritchie is shown as a boarder and Mary Lesslie (sic) is listed as "resting up". This listing is for Rankin, Butler township, Vermillion County, IL. Elizabeth Ritchie is also shown with her husband, Samuel Ritchie in Ohio. I do not know if Mary Mathews Menoher Leslie was buried in Vermilion County, IL, with her first husband, John Menoher in PA, or with her second husband, Jacob Leslie, in Summit County, OH. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Mary Mathews Menoher Leslie was the step mother of my great grandfather, Samuel Leslie, but probably the only mother he knew as he was only two years old when his father remarried after the death of his first wife. Pat was born on Dec. 6, 1930, in Rossville, the daughter of Frances and Blanche (Borders) Borror. She married Clarence Edgar Keister on July 1, 1955, in Danville. He survives. She also is survived by: her daughter, Cathy (Nate) Rife of Crescent City, Fla., her son, Ed (Cassie) Keister of Danville; her daughter Ruth (Brad) Pantaleo of Danville; two brothers, Ken (Violet) Borror of Ellenwood, Kan., and Frank 'B.B.' Many in the family moved to Vermilion Co., Illinois in the 1820's. The Brazelton's were Quakers and it is likely some Brazelton's are buried at Pilot Grove, east of Ridge Farm. There was a Meeting House there, but there were others at Georgetown, so you need to consult Quaker records. William Brazelton was the foster parent to my ggg-grandfather Israel Patton when he was orphaned/abandoned in the early 1800's in Jefferson co., TN. Israel came to Vermilion County in around 1825 and William Brazelton came shortly thereafter. Some of William Brazelton's brothers came to Vermilion co. as early as 1823. Sep 1867--IA). The couple came to Ridge Farm, Elwood Twp., Vermilion Co. sometime before 1920 from Franklin Co., IA. They are in the 1930 census. It is likely they are buried in Pilot Grove Cemetery, to the east of Ridge Farm. The Appleby's had at least two children: Ralph, b. 1901 and Lucille, b. 1904.
