If clicking on the above link does not work, copy and paste (or retype) everything from "http: to ~ilvermil/" between but not including the quotation marks. -----Original Message----- From: ilvermil-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ilvermil-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Donna Sent: Wednesday, September 05, 2007 11:21 PM To: ilvermil@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILVERMIL] Vermilion Co Family Tree The link does not work. 1. Re: [ILVERMIL] Leonard cemetery Vermilion,
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: macoan2 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.illinois.counties.vermilion/7517.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: As a side note, there is a caretaker for this cemetery who keeps the cemetery very well maintained - and within a week of vandals hitting the cemetery, the cemetery was looking great. I visited about 2 weeks after, and took photo's of every stone for my http://www.vermilioncounty.info website - and if I did not know that the cemetery was recently hit by vandals, I would have never known. The caretaker for the cemetery (and other helpers) did a GREAT job in getting all the stones back up. They now put a wire across the path back to the cemetery, and all the neighbors are on watch. When I went to visit, within 5 minutes - 2 trucks were out there to check on me to make sure I had business back there - so hopefully they will continue to watch this cemetery close. About 2 weeks after Leonard cemetery was vandalized, Michael-Rutledge / Johnson Hill cemetery north of Oakwood was hit. I had pictures off all the stones from before, and now after of the cemetery - but unlike Leonard, I'm not sure there is an "active" caretaker. I hope to put more pictures out on my http://www.vermilioncounty.info website soon - but usually when I have free time, I'm spending it out taking yet more photos - so maybe once bad weather hits that keeps me inside long enough, I will get back to updating that website. I have many of the smaller cemeteries (less then 50 stones) already complete - and a few bigger cemeteries with complete pictures - Gundy, Leonard, Johnson, etc.... and still working on many more.
