    3. Alright,, I'll bite again,, there are just too many coinky dinks here. My whole Vliet, Foster, etc. family is also buried in Rossville cemetery. Does anyone have the info on Texanna Vliet-Wilson? Just another coincidence but I was born in Montgomery Co., IN, where my GGrandfather Vliet opened a grocery store with my ggrandmother Leila Vliet. My Grandmother, Portia J. Vliet, sister of Patricia Vliet, ex-mayor of Rossville, and my grandfather, Robert E. Smith, moved to assist with the store. I am at wits end with the Smith side of course, have a little on the Vliets and nothing on the Fosters. Any help would be appreciated. 3. Bob, Saw your post on genweb. Do you know anything about the Smith family in Danville? My grandfather, Robert E. Smith, was born in 1923 to Gertrude White and some unknown Smith supposedly. We are real confused on this branch. His grandmother raised him because his mother was in and out of mental institutions, which is probably the reason we can't figure out who his father was. Her name was Cassie White of Danville. 1. [ILVERMIL-L] STUMP families in Vermilion Co., IL
    2. Hi everyone, I was very surprised to see my old address. I haven't lived there since 1983. I am descended from George W. Stump and Hannah H. Surface. They moved to Vermilion Co., IL 1884-1886 from Montgomery Co., IN. They are buried in Rossville Cemetery. This line is from KY. Have not been able to trace them back any further yet. Another line, that I haven't connected to mine, lived around Alvin, IL. This is Charles Alfred Stump, s/o Jacob and Matilda Stump. Yet another line is Henry Addison Stump who married Cora Peak in 1888. Henry's family came to the area in 1870 from Circleville, OH. I don't have his parents listed. I hope this helps. 2. I was curious about Muncie. I lived in Vermilion co. for the 1st 21 years of my life and still have family there, but I had never heard of Muncie. Anyway it is west of Danville between the little towns of Oakwood and Fithian. If you follow U.S. 150 on a map it is about 1/2 way between those 2 towns. If you can't find it on a state map, try <http://search.cnet.com> and select the link to "City Maps" in the area below the search input. Hope this was some help. 2. Emberry Chapel is in Pilot Twp, Vermilion County, IL. To find the cemetery, go west on Highway 150 from Oakwood (Oakwood is 9 miles west of Danville). Muncie is the next town to the west, perhaps 2 miles. Go left on the Muncie main drag quite a ways...the cemetery is on the left hand side of the road. If you have a map showing the sections of the township, you will find the cemetery in section 17, on the Northeast corner. I have one relative buried there for sure...Franklin Allison, a baby, son of Otho Allison and Minerva Jane Cosatt - our Allison homestead was kitty-cornered and down the road a half-section. Sorry, this is one cemetery book I don't have. Here, however, are some contacts for you...I'm sure one of them can help you find the info you seek! 3. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone out there is researching the HALL surname in Hoopestown, Ill. My direct HALL line was living in Danville Illinois from about 1865 to the 1960's. One obituary around 1900, mentions that an Anna Hall, a relative from Hoopestown, was present when my great aunt, Alleta LEVERICH HALL, wife of Harry A. HALL, was killed accidentally by a shotgun, while on o family picnic, and that she attended the funeral. I would assume from the article about the death, that Anna would have been about 18 yrs old at the time. She is most likely the daughter or granddaughter of one of Dr. John Hall's (my gg grandfather) siblings, but unfortunately I do not know any of their names as yet. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Maggie Hall
