Seeking information on the descendents of Abel Newbrough and Sussanah Cline (1819-1850), m.10 March 1836 in Vermilion Co. They had at least 6 children: Catherine, Marget, Nathaniel, Leuize, John, and Abel (Jr.). Abel, Sussanah, two of their children (Leuize and Nathaniel) are buried at the Cline/Millner Cemetery in Blount Township. Thanks. Linda Hedges linda.hedges@ssec.wisc.edu
Dear Greg, Sorry, but SMITH is my husband's name. His SMITHS were from Scots who migrated to Ontario. Beth
Seeking information on the Millinder family that lived in Blount Township, Vermilion County in the 1840's. Eliza Millinder's marriage records (1842) names Rice Millinder as her father but I can find no other record of him or the family. Surname may also have been spelled as Millner. The Cline/Millner Cemetery is located on their homestead in Blount Township. Linda Hedges linda.hedges@ssec.wisc.edu

Dear Dianne, I am interested in the name THEOBOLD. While researching my GGgrandfather, William Morrow SILVER and my GGgrandmother, Mary Ann ROACH WEAVER SILVER, who lived in Hoopeston, Grant Twp., Vermillion Co.,IL, I came across some interesting information on the census for 1900, in Hoopeston. William and Mary Ann SILVER were living with two of their four children and also their grandson and grandaughter, William THEOBOLD, born 6/1879 in IL, age was 20 at the time; and Pearl THEOBOLD, born 2/1881, age 19 at the time. I believe that William and Pearl must have been the children of the daughter born to Mary Ann's first marriage - which was to Noah WEAVER. Mary Ann and Noah WEAVER had two children: Alice, born abt. 1863 and Noah, born in 1864. Alice must have married someone named THEOBOLD, probably abt. 1875-1878. I have no idea what happened to Alice or why her children were living with their grandmother, Mary Ann. Do these names sound familiar to you? The name is not a common one, and it was in the same county, so there's a chance there's some relation to the THEOBOLD you mentioned. Please let me know what you think. Thanks. Beth BSmith7439@aol.com
I am also researching the Guthery line from Vermilion Co. Interested in Elizabeth b. abt 1795 in OH to William Guthery and Catherine Theobold. Elizabeth married John Sowders in Ross Co., OH and migrated to Illinois. Anything familiar here? Let me know if we can compare notes. Dianne in MI
I see lots of postings on Guthrie. I am researching a ancestor by the name of Russell Guthrie but it could be spelled Gunthrie. He died in early 1930's. Never was married that I know of. Any info out there would be appreciated. -----Original Message----- From: Cindy Lee Gettle <gettle@earthlink.net> To: ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com <ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, June 28, 1999 4:19 PM Subject: [ILVERMIL-L] GUTHRIE and RAMSEY >Descendants of John Guthrie > > 1 John Guthrie >. +Evaline Allen 1833 - 1911 > > >Descendants of Edmo/und Ramsey > > 1 Edmo/und Ramsey - 1868 >. +Evaline Allen 1833 - 1911 >.......... 2 Lilly Lucretia Ramsey 1860 - >.............. +JOHN LONG >.......... 2 Harriet Evaline Ramsey >.............. +WADE ELLIS >.......... 2 Edmond Luther Ramsey 1864 - >.............. +Emma (Bobo) Jane Flemmons >...................... 3 Wealtha Evaline Ramsey 1870 - >.......................... +Joseph Hannible Taylor >.......... 2 Elbert Allen Ramsey 1866 - >.......... 2 Iretta Annis (Retty) Ramsey 1868 - > >I know that Evaline was born in Green Co IL.... >Don't have anything else on Edmund or John Guthrie except >first marriages and childrens names. > Does any of these ring a bell with anyone? >Cindy > > > >==== ILVERMIL Mailing List ==== >Vermilion County, Illinois >The ILGenWeb Project >http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilvermil/ >

I have a gg aunt, Selena BOOHER that md a Thomas COX on 10 Oct 1906. Selena was b. 30 Jul 1883, Armstrong, Vermillion, IL f. Benjamin Franklin BOOHER m. Frances Adona HARPER. The only other info I have on Thomas I received from the Social Security Death Index, 1998 Edition. It read: Thomas Cox, b. 10 Sep 1881, issued IL, SSN 351-09-3183, d. Feb 1966, IL, Death Residence was Armstrong, Vermillion, IL 61812. I have not confirmed this 100% although I had already had his death date and it matched. I know of a neice of Selena's that is a genealogist. She might have more info. Her name is Louise Cannon, Box 12, Armstrong IL 61812. I haven't talked to her for a few years, but she was most helpful with my research. I know at the time she was writing a history of Armstrong. Hi, this is a repeat of a post of about a year ago. Maybe it'll generate some new interest. I am seeking information on John Edward HAWK b.1849, and wife Catherine who lived in Danville at least from 1881 through 1895. John was a veteran of the Civil War, of the 165 PA Volunteers. He was a son of John S. and Sarah Ann HAWK of Newburg PA.His church affiliation was probably Methodist or United Bretheren. Does anyone there have any info. on this family? Any help will be appreciated. I have a good deal of history of my gg grandfather, John S. HAWK family in central PA which I will be happy to share. -- Bill Hawk whsaxman@philly.infi.net "It is indeed desirable to be well descended, but the glory belongs to our ancestors"-Plutarch HAUCK,STUMP,HAWK,REGES,SENSENY,HUBER,MUSSELMAN,MELL,WOLF,STUTENROTH,WELLIVER,(PA 1751- now); KILLOUGH,MCCAUGHAN,RANKIN,CHESTNUTT,MCALLISTER (NIR>PA USA 1794-now)
