    1. [ILVERMIL] Marriage abstracts Vermillion county
    2. Arthur Maxwell
    3. I am researching the Brazelton family and would like to obtain copies of their respective marriages. Is it possible to obtain copies of the Marriage License Abstracts, Vermilion County, Illinois 1853-1874,' Vol 2,? Also can anyone tell me the cost of a death certificate (uncertified) in Vermillion County? Art

    3. Dear Glenda, Thank you so much for researching for me. I have a embarrasing question. What census is this? It has been awhile and I can't remember. I think maybe one of the Keen families might be a connection. The one that has Martha J. She always used her middle initial. James B. Long had a wife whose name was Sally and his mothers name was Jamima. Thank you again Jeannette. -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth Womack <Ken-Womack@worldnet.att.net> To: ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com <ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, August 16, 1999 3:44 AM Subject: [ILVERMIL] Re: [ILVERMIL-L] Mann's Cemetery/TN LOOK-UPS >Sorry, been out of town and just getting back to my messages. > >No James, J.B's or James B Longs. 2. Wayne Crawford
    3. I was wondering if anyone might have information or suggest sources that I might review for information regarding a Crawford Oakwood Coal Mine. It was run in the early part of the century. I don't know how early but I know it operated in 1918 and was run by Howard and Robert W. Crawford. Robert eventually sold his share to Howard who ran it with his wife, Grace. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Wayne Crawford

    1. [ILVERMIL] Halls in Vermilion County
    2. Rodney Hall
    3. I have at Least Charley Hall in Vermilion co. in the1930's with his mother Mary, wife Blanch and children Mack and Joyce. His father John W. Hall b. 1852 died in 1924, I'm not sure if it was in Clark or Vermilion county. John had a brother named Joseph b. 1850 living in Randolph co in 1910 but no record of him in 1920 so he may have died between 10&20. Joseph children were George and Martha. John had other children as well as charley. Everett b.1883 died in a train wreck Jan. 1930 in vermilion county. Left wife Sadie. ex wife Ollie. and children Elmer, Marion (called Glade usually), Zara (Zerah), and Ruby. Joseph F. Hall b. 1880 had son Franklin James (William) Hall b. 1878 children Marvin, Russell, Mary Effie Hall b. 1886 sometimes called Lucy, married a yeager Matilda Hall died as an infant in 1894 They are all descendants of James H. Hall born in 1812 in Maryland. Married in Cincinnati in 1834, moved to Bracken co KY 1840, Livingston co 1860. He may have moved to Pope co Illinois between 1880 and 1900. I could find no death or probate record on him in Livingston co KY. His children besides John and Joseph were Sallie, Ann, Amanda, Catherine, and Henderson who died in 1868 a civil war veteran. I have some of the marriages for the women. Many were married 2 or 3 times, most in Golconda, Pope Co. IL. Let me know if anything rings a bellwith anyone. After 1900 they pretty much all went north throughout Illinois I think. Sincerely Rodney Hall

John hall died in 1924 possibly in Vermilion co. Everett died in a train wreck in 1930 and Charles died in 1978. Charles wife was Blanch Woodworth Hall and she died in 1978 also. John's wife Mary is supposed to have died in 1944 near Indianola. Anybody related? Sincerely Rodney Hall

    3. Someone posted the Cotton family info for me. I thought I recognized the name of Isaac Cotton. I am wondering if he is the father of John Henry Cotton, the ancestor I am searching for information about. I know for sure that John Henry is the great grandfather of my husband. Since Isaac and John Henry both have been in Vermilion Co. and in Saline County, makes it a pretty good guess that they are related. I will finally get there. Charlie's grandmother died young leaving 3 small children to be raised by an aunt. That same aunt had raised his grandmother and her siblings because their mother had died young. Isn't that tragic! It also has hindered us in finding information. I will post it for you if I find any information about Isaac and his wife. I have written to IRAD to see if I can get birth and parental information about John Henry and William Edgar, Charlie's grandfather. Thanks for asking. Send me you email address if you want me to send the info I gather to you privately. Velda

    1. [ILVERMIL-L] Census Query
    2. Oscar Hoffmeyer, Jr.
    3. An ancestor is listed in the 1860 Illinois Census. However, our genealogical library does not have an index for additional years, although I believe there is a partial film for 1870 for Vermilion County. I would appreciate a look-up on the following: John RICKART, 69, farmer, $9600 land value, born in North Carolina (my records show about 1791). Others on the census film; Nancy? 56, Kentucky; Maria ?, 26 teacher Ohio; Jacob 20, Ohio. These records seem consistent with a son of my wife's ggg-grandfather, Leonard Rickart. I would like to make positive identification if I possible can. The family moved from N.C. about 1800, to Virginia then in 1810 to Ohio and then to Illinois about 1844. Perhaps John/family then moved to Vermilion County later. I would like to determine a death date in order to request death certificates for John and Nancy, especially. Thank you for any help.
