The church was in Hoopeston, and was said to be a Baptist church, but it is possible it could have been a Methodist church. Reverend Prout was an evangelist as well. 3. If you haven't already your first step would be to get a copy of his death certificate from the courthouse in Danville. You can write them if you aren't in the area. The death cert. frequently has place born and parents of the deceased. Vermilion County Courthouse, County Clerk's Office, 6 N Vermilion, Danville, IL 61832, 217-431-2616 You could also get marriage cert. and other info there. sincerely Rodney Hall -----Original Message----- From: Brenda Baughman <Brenda.Baughman@ncmail.net> To: ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com <ILVERMIL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, September 22, 1999 10:21 AM Subject: [ILVERMIL] Samuel Thornton 1869-1953 >Looking for info on Samuel M Thornton b 3-9-1869 in IL and died >1-10-1953 in Danville IL.
