John W.'s parents were Harvy Kinney (23 Jan 1821-20 Jun 1900) and Eliza Jane Furrow (27 Oct 1826-21 Mar 1901). They are buried at Knight's Branch Cemetery, southwest of Potomac, Vermilion County, IL. If you need specific directions, let me know. I have information on the Furrows and Plimells (Eliza Jane's mother's maiden name). Unfortunately, Harvy's parents are just about nowhere to be found. Still working on it. Beth
If there is no will, the person who settles the estate is a court-appointed administrator. If there is a will, the person who settles the estate is the executor (male) or executrix (female). He or she is carrying out (executing) the will of the deceased. I can't guarantee that every estate settlement used those terms properly but that's how Black's Law Dictionary defines those terms. I was looking through the post on Ancestry.com and came across your post on James Briley. I see you are researching Briley's. I am looking for a John F. Briley b:abt. 1855, Missouri. His father was Benjamin Briley, b: 1830 Ohio. Brother, James Talbert Briley b. 1852 KY/MO. I located the family in Francklin County, MO 1860 census. Benjamin remarried 1865 in St. Francois County, MO; however James T. and John F. are not in the household. It has been told they went to Tennessee, around Memphis. James T. returned to MO; but John stayed in Tenn. married and had children. Later the family moved to Chicago Illinois. It is also said that he either had a car lot or a auto auction in Chicago. Have been hitting a brick wall on John and his family for so long. Does any of this sound familar to you. I would love to share information with you if we can find a connection.
