I was wondering where you get the information that his parentage is German. The majority of the histories I have read state that his ancestry is Scottish. If you will go to my site: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mamawea&id=I016 you can see two of the histories I refer to, and there are others. Subj: Andrew Jackso Vliet - Date: 12/13/98 9:51:41 AM Central Standard Time From: KAMPSSITE. Found the name of my great grandparents, Andrew Jackson Vliet and Elizabeth Fleming on your web site. My family data has for Andrew: b 1828, New Jersey; d August 5, 1900, IL. For Elizabeth: b 1835 Canada, d 1906 IL. I have been unable to verify this. Have been searching to clear up what I think is an error in my information on the parents of Andrew. Elizabeth's mother was a Hibler. Two different sources suggest her name was either Mary or Elizabeth Ana. She died when her children were quite small. After her death the Vliet family moved to the Peoria area in Illinois, later to Iroquois County where there is some information available. Andrew was my paternal grandmother's father. How do Andrew and Elizabeth mesh with your family? Would appreciate any information. Have a little more data on A & E but cannot verify it yet. 3. I am still searching for information on Emma Clark who died of TB in Hoopeston, IL. Emmas was born Sep 30, 1875, and I have a picture of her and her 3 sisters when they were young women so I'm guessing that she died after 1890. Her uncle, (Alfred) Henry Trego was the VP of the Hoopeston Canning Co. I'm hoping that someone on this list might be descended from him and his first wife Frances Caroline Reed and might have some information on when Emma Clark died and where she might be buried. I do have a picture of a flower arrangement taken by a Hoopeston photographer with a written caption saying it was taken at Emma's funeral. Henry and Frances Trego's children were Charles, Carrie, Percy, Edward, and Sidney. Edward was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Hoopeson Canning Co. Was there a TB sanatorium near Hoopeston where she might have lived as a patient? I have sent this question to the list before, but perhaps there will be someone new on the list who might have some information. Thanks. Patricia Max

    2. Two surnames are in common with some of my Vermilion Co names. OLIVER: My grgrandmother was Anna Olliver. She married Reuben Ramsey as his second wife after the first (Mary Swank) died in/from childbirth GUTHRIE: Reuben's friend was GEORGE GUTHRIE of Vermilion Co. George married Sarah Swank, sister of Mary. As I understand it, Reuban and Anna moved on to AR and at a later time, so did George and Sarah.
