A Lady in Tilton, Illinois sent me the whole list of the family from Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. Her husband's mother was a Lockhart and her Aunt married a Grimes and then their child married a Butcher, so her husband is connected to the Grimes via his mother and father. Kathy has been researching the family for awhile. She has and sent to me Obit's, marriage cert's (copys) a record of names from an old family Bible. And a list of the family a mile long. As she has the majority of the information and has long searched, she exchanged with me her info for what I have. I would prefer for you to contact her first, I believe that would be best and I know she will exchange with you just as she has with me. And I can give you the information too, I believe that would be fine with her, and certainly would with me. I haven't sent her what I have as yet, I almost have it all compiled and will send to her very soon. If this information can help you, let either Kathy or myself know. Elisha P. Notes for Jacob Sr Grimes: Subj: Grimes/Bonnett/lockhart. 02/12/2002 From: [email protected] (Donald B Jeakins) I have been researching the Grimes family from Vermilion County, Illinois, for information on a Branch of the family that came west in 1900. Had some of the names here, and a Book showed up, The History of Vermilion County, Illinois. 1979. by Beckwith and a Historical Atlas Map of Vermilion County, Illinois, 1875. One was 123 years old, and the other 127 years old. I found the family, of Ephraim P. Grimes in there and gave his children. I was in Rootsweb and put the information on a board, the next morning I got an email from a lady in Tilton, Ill. Her husbands mother was a lockhart, and her Aunt married a Grimes and then their child married a Butcher. so he is connected with the Grimes. I saw all the Grimes in on Ancestry Com but couldn't put them together with what I had from the Book. The book had a few names in the wrong place, and spelled wrong. No wonder. I am going to send you a couple pages on the ones you put in Ancestry com Entries: 33335. Look them over, and if they are the ones you are looking at, I will send the rest. Or if you already have these names, fine I can stop. The dates are not the same and a coupl! e names are different. But I think these are all related. These all connect with what I have out west. I send this message to let you know that a file will show up in your mail. I have to reconfigure my mail program first and if I do it right a attachment will say is attached, but when you bring the mail up the text will be right there just as this is. What it is doing now, it sends the text all jumbled up. Watch for my address, so you will know who it is from. My name is Donald B. Jeakins the address has my name. Thanks, have a safe week. Elisha P.
