(Albright) who m. William Carney. They had a daughter Amelia J. Carney in Seneca Co. Ohio in 1882. Thanks. Sally
I've looked at the picture, front and back. Dates on the back and the dresses of the women answer my first question. I am going to guess that the Sarah Guthrie is Sarah Swank Guthrie, wife of George Guthrie, initially of Vermilion Co and then of Stuttgart, AR. George was a friend of my gr grandpa, Reuben Ramsey. Reuben's first wife was Mary Swank, sister of Sarah. The 1900 AR census for Stuttgart has Sarah at age 51. I haven't figured out which woman in the picture is Sarah yet, but some could be in their 70-80s all right. I've been speculating that some strong motive would be at the bottom of this gathering .. a reunion maybe? Does anyone recognize the building from the portion shown? As to Kate Oliver, I will have to hit my files. It is a fact that Reuben Ramsey's second wife, (my gr grma) was Anna J. Oliver. She died in Stuttgart, AR in 1908. Kate could have been of her Oliver family, but I will have to dig to see if I can prove that. ron -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] Sent: Jan 17, 2005 8:40 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ILVERMIL] Photo of women Sidell, IL This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. There is no date or approx date, unless I missed it. Is there one known? I see a Guthrie and an Oliver. Of course newspapers have been known to report the wrong item. The Known Burials of Vermilion County is available at the Danville Library and at the Illiana Genealogical Society on North Street. They also have CDs of these burials available too at IGHS. And Myers could also be Meyers, or Meirs too.
