Its not uncommon not to find a record on the Illinois Statewide Death Index but to find one in the County Clerks Office. buried:___________________(Cemetery Name) in __________________(City/County/State).....I'd check in Old Stearns Cemetery in Ogden, Champaign County, IL as that is where his son Samuel is buried and David lived with Samuel in 1870. Also, I believe Davids wife Mary is buried there too. Parents: ___________________________(Fathers Birthname) __________________(Mothers Birthname)....Try to locate obit/death cert/marriage application as they may hold that information. I'm sure it was in VA though as they were both born there and several of their older children were born in VA.
