I was just on your site to see if I knew any of your lost. None were any of mine or even think they might be. I was in Hoopeston six weeks ago. I was going to Newell Cemetery to take some photos, but a farmer plowed over it. And there are aout 20 gone from my family. What a shame. I never got to Leonard Cemetery becauseof the rain because it is suspose to be right by it. Where also a lot of mine are located. I did live in Hoopeston, family from there Allen and Newell plus so many others and not enough space. Thanks for your web site, I have bookmarked it.

George Schwab was another photographer in Hoopeston around the turn of the last century. I have some of their photos on my website, http://members.aol.com/acepub/FOH.html I don't recall seeing any cabinet cards in the Hoopeston library, but they did have some postcard type photos from 1910's or 1920's in Hoopeston in their Illinois room collection.

I'm sorry I don't live closer to the area or else I would do it for you. If I were in your shoes I'd contact someone at the public library there in Rankin and see if they know of anyone who might be able to help you out. They may know of people who do volunteer work. Ohio. John Conger Wright (Catherine's brother) moved to Iowa in 1848/9. Carl

Lucinda Sharp was the daughter of Ruth Wright Sharp Nicholson. Ruth Wright may have been a cousin of Catherine Wright. I also am trying to confirm that Reuben Wright (b1805 in PA) was the sister of Elizabeth Wright (Mrs. James) Redman (b 1791 in PA) of Vermillion Co, IL . I believe Reuben and Elizabeth are children of Reuben & Mary (Conger) Wright. And then there is the son of Mary Sharp (Ruth's eldest) who was Robert Redman. Was Mary married to a Redman? Then did she marry a Whitaker? Or do I have two Wright families mixed together? These Wright's can be confusing.

Once you know the cemetery you can go to the following site www.findagrave.com find the cemetery you are looking for and enter their information in the cemetery and then click on the request photo tab. A volunteer will be sent an announcement that you are needing a picutre. I have had some wonderful people assist me with this and I usually get results within a week or two. It really helps the person volunteering to take the photo if they know the location of the tombstone in the cemetery. When you speak to a volunteer at the Genealogical Society have them tell you the location of both persons stones. Hope this helps! T
