Mary and Patti, That's really good advice. I have found several Randolph, Jackson, Union, Williamson and Alexander family members who went to MO to get married and I think, Patti, you may have hit on the reason - they probably didn't have to have blood tests in order to marry there and it could be that the process was a little more streamlined. I don't know if there was/is a waiting period in either state. These webpages have more information and include photos Goff and Hobbs and Everything in Between http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=guinevere60 This website shows the interconnections of all the direct branches of our Goff and Hobbs families and only include sources. This is definitely a work in progress and, right now, needs to be updated. I live in my own little world, but that's okay, they like me here. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Friend" <rmfriend@sbcglobal.net> To: <ilunion@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:11 PM Subject: [ILUNION] Marriages Patti, Have you looked on Ancestry? I looked for several years to find out when/where my grandparents married and recently found their marriage license on the Ancestry site. I am sure that is part of it. My mother was from Johnson county and my father from Union county. They were married in Cape Girardeau, MO. Can't remember the exact reason and they are gone now but I am sure it was easier and quicker.
