I have an elusive gg-grandfather, Isaac L.(may be Leaper)JOHNS b. ca 1826 IL (1850 Johnson Co.IL Census where the name is incorrectly recorded as JONES.) Isaac marries Rebecca SIMMONS 27 Jan 1853 in Johnson Co.IL. In 1850 Census Isaac L is living in with Father, Felix JONES(JOHNS) B. ca. 1802 VA and mother, Mary (CONDOR?) b. ca 1801 in NC. Ch. listed are: Issac N. 24 (my g-grandfather) William B. 20 Lydia A. 17 John W. 14 Felix M. 10 Thomas H. 8 Peter 2 All Ch. born in IL except Thomas H. who was b. in MO. If you are at all familiar with this family I would be very appreciative of a shout! It's bad enough that I can't hook gg-grandpa to a family but then I loose track (documentation) of g-grandpa Isaac N. by 1909 when his daughter marries.
