I can trace the Smiths back to 1550 with Andrew Smith I to Andrew Smith VII with many Andrew Smiths in between. However, I have never been able to hang this Andrew Smith and Catherine Halterman (they would be my ggggg grandparents--that is if I can prove they are the parents of George Smith who married Ritta Lyerly)on the tree. I do know that the Smiths lived in New Jersey, then moved to North Carolina and then to Union County, Illinois. Andrew and Catherine belonged to the Dutch Buffalo Creek Church Meeting House in Rowan County, NC. (Just a note, if you need any help, I can trace the Lyerlys and Misenheimers to when they came to America. I hope you can help me with the Andrew Smith and Cather Halterman's marriage and children, as well as their parents. Thanks ever so much for all the work that you have already done.
