KENTUCKIANS TO GO ON TRIAL FOR "HUMAN SACRIFICE" Inez, Ky., April 7-John Mills,leader of a fantastic backwoods religious cult, and eight of his followers went on trial Thursday on murder charges arising from the death of Mrs. Lucinda Mills, allegedly a "human sacrifice" In a cult rite. The nine were indicted Tuesday on three joint true bills charging murder, conspiracy, and aiding and abetting a murder. The Indictments did not name any one as the actual murderer. Judge J. F. Bailey set trial for tomorrow morning and Sam Maynard, defense counsel, Indicated he would ask for separate trials. EDWARDSVILLE INTELLIGENCER FRIDAY, APRIL 7,1933 Convicted of Killing His Mother. Inez, Ky., April 12-John H. Mills, 36, leader of fantastic, Kentucky mountain cubo who killed his mother Mrs. Lucinda Mills, 76, as a sacrifice, today was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life imprisionment.
