David, we live about a mile from the LDS Family History Center...my husband has gone down there to check if they have the book available. I don't know how much you know about Family History Centers, but there should be one there in the area where you are.... they are super helpful when you need something..... I got an e-mail back from Marianne...she can't do anything about the book now, her mother is too ill to leave etc. etc. I would enjoy going to Anna for the Lincoln-Douglas debate....we're getting toooooo old to make a long trip!!! David, Bob said you answered him..that you recieved the index...I might just make a suggestion...for your genealogy research.....you wrote and told me you went to Union Co., IL, saw the tombstones of ancestors..... but you didn't mention the names... Since I have several ancestors that were in Union Co., early, and some were in the Civil War, I might have something else that would aid you with your research.
