Several have written about Anna State Hospital, the cemetery etc. I do know this, the LDS Church did a series of copying records [census etc.] a few years ago, I was one who did some extractions. I did the Anna State Hospital records for the last part of the 1890's and the earely 1900's..... I was able to find a great uncle of mine who was in the Insane Hospital at that time.....he was there because he had frozen his feet, and wasn't able to take care of himself...and he had lived with family for a few years but he got worse and had to be hospitalized....his name was William Greer, son of William Greer and Mary Ann Pickerell.... he was single , his brother was Berry Greer who married Martha Throgmorton Pipkin..... My memory is that it was in the early 1900's he died/ This microfilm record would be at a Family History Center of the LDS [mormon] Church....under Union County, IL records...... Need any help?
