Dica A. b ca 1843 and Amy ca 1847. Amy A. Fain married John B. Overman. Johnson Co mrg recds show three possible marriages for Dica: "Dicy" Ann Fain married Thomas Carter on 9/25/1858, a Dicy A. Carter married John Sterlin 5/16/1866, and a Dicy Ann Sterling married George A. Tyler 8/9/1871. Illinois Civil War Veterans database shows a George A. Tyler from Johnson Co served as a private in Co C, 120th IL Inf. The household of Charles Fain in the Johnson Co IL 1850 census http://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/il/johnson/1850/ shows Dica A, age 7, and "Emma E.", age 3. Names are quite often listed incorrectly on the census. It looks like Amy's first name is listed three different ways in three censuses: "Emma E.", 3 in 1850, "Amia", age 13 in 1860 (both in Charles Fain's household), and "Anna", age 23 in 1870 in John Overman's household. Marriage record shows "Amy A." Illinois Statewide Marriage Index shows Fain marriages. http://www2.sos.state.il.us/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html Some Johnson Co Fain queries at the Fain Family Genealogy Forum. http://genforum.genealogy.com/fain 1860 JOHNSON CO IL CENSUS: CHARLES FAIN 62 GA Hannah 46 NC Elizabeth 15 IL Amia 13 (female) Louiza 11 IL Eli SHORT 12 IL Lewis WISE 21 IL CHARLES FAIN 35 IL Nancy 65 TN Sarah 23 IL ================ Fain site: http://www.fortunecity.com/bally/shannon/21/ Survey of surname Fain in US censuses at http://www.fortunecity.com/bally/shannon/21/1607-1830censusindex.html . http://www.fortunecity.com/bally/shannon/21/1850censusindex.html
