The Illinois Statewide Marriage Index gives the marriage date of Loammi and Mary as 1/13/1876. http://www2.sos.state.il.us/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html MARION CO IL 1900 CENSUS Patoka Township, ED 28, Sheet 12A?, 13 June 1900 LOAMA LAKE, b Feb 1852, KY. The submitters may not necessarily be able to help you with info on him, but possibly they can help with his descendants. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi Once at this site, do a search for the spelling Lake, Loami or Epperson, Mary H. or the surname Lake with a spouse named Epperson. That last type of search is only done in the advanced search area found by scrolling to the bottom of the page listing the hits received on a first & last name search. There's a mention of their daughter Cora at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~tobin/deffenba/def08.html . Says Cora was born at Vernon IL (Marion County). 1880 census shows an 18-yr-old Loami Lake across the border in Vigo Co IN, who might be related in some way. Only three or four counties between there and Fayette Co IL. Query on Loammi from Allen Gass at the Lake Family Genealogy Forum: http://genforum.genealogy.com/lake/messages/1261.html Sometimes, when I've seen a location written with a county name like "Union, IL", it has turned out to be a township rather than a county. No Lakes in the 1850 Union Co IL census and none found in the Heritage Quest index to the 1860 Union Co census.
