I have been contacted by a member of a Country Club in Chicago who is doing research for their centennial in 2006. He says that James' widow, Eliza Bell, sold them the land for the golf course. Does anyone know why she would have owned land in Chicago? I have read printed accounts of the family, but am not related, so just wondered if anyone out there might know about them.
