Davis and Nancy Asenath Davis you refer to were children of James K. and Harriet (Guthrie) Davis. I have no info on his parents. The 1850 census shows him born in "Mi.", which I believe in this case stands for Mississippi. His family bible info, from Harriet's Civil War widow's pension application, http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?james,davis::il/union::373.html shows these children: Eliza J. Davis, born May 4th, 1845 Matilda A. Davis " Nov. 25th, 1847 Mary E. Davis " Sept. 6th, 1849 Ida A. Davis " Jan. 4th, 1851 Nancy A. Davis " Feb. 1st, 1853 William J. Davis " May 10th, 1855 Malinda A. Davis " May 1st, 1858 Sonora Davis " Dec. 27th, 1859 Anslum H. Davis " Oct. 22d, 1861 Harriet N. Davis " March 29th, 1866 Iola Davis " June 14th, 1868 Lucinda Davis " Feb 2d, 1869 I'm not aware of any Davis marriages to my Andersons in Union County, although the mother of B. F. Biggs, who married Nancy Davis, was a sister of Timothy and Cornelius "Neely" Anderson. The name Cornelius Davis in the other Davis family appears to have no connection to either of the Cornelius Andersons of Union County. Cornelius W. Anderson, son of Timothy, married Nancy, daughter of Thomas Black, in the 1840's. I don't know if they were any relation to the later Black's of Union County. If you see a connection, please let me know.
