In the civil war pension file of Lewis M Bittle, there are several affidavits written by his friends and neighbors. The affidavits give some information about the person signing the affidavits. Examples of information included in some - their Post office location, that served with him in the Civil war and their unit, that they were a neighbor, indicating how long they knew him, their distance from his home, frequency of visits to his home, that they stayed in his home, went with him and waited on him at the civil war hospital. Some are written in their hand, others written for them and signed with their mark. I'll be glad to send digital copies of these affidavits to researchers wanting to document their ancestor's events. Below is the list of affadavits in his pension file - with the affadavit date.
