My mother was DON at Choate for a number of years. She also was there as a nursing student in the 50's. The only fire she remembers was in the same building as the records in the 70's when Dr. Steck caught his apartment on fire smoking in bed. The cemetery is intact but there are no, nor have there ever been headstones. The restrictions in release of information are due to HIPPA, the incredibly annoying piece of paper everybody has to sign every three minutes for healthcare these days. It is difficult at best to get that information. A death certificate would have been issued and be on file at the courthouse in Jonesboro. Even deaths at Anna State had those issued. If you have trouble getting a death certificate then some of your information could be incorrect. CStrahm
