Linda, I have that our Johann Jacob Meisenheimer came from Cabarrus Co., N.C. If anyone knows the exact place the Meisenheimers or Hilemans came from in Germany, we would love to know, as we are planning to visit there this spring. My ggg grandmother was his daughter Easter Halterman who married John Arnhart(Earnhart). If Catherine Halterman married a Smith and they came to Union Co IL I would say they relate to Abraham Halterman line as all do. He is buried at Campground Church Cemetery in Union Co IL. I believe Abraham Halterman lived in Rowan Co NC before moving to Union Co IL. I do have alot on the Halterman family because married into many of my other lines.

He resided in both Union and Jackson Counties at various times. The 1910 census finds him in Cobden, Union County with his 2nd wife, Catherine. The 1920 census finds Catherine living in the household of her daughter, Ida Toppings, in Carbondale, Jackson County. William is not listed, hence the 1910-1920 death date. Any suggestions on how to narrow the date?
