Any deaths at the state hospital had to be recorded with the county. Jonesboro is the county seat. You might also want to check with the local library.

    3. Our P.A.S.T. group sells copies of that 1908 Union County Atlas for $25.00. I will be gone for the next 2 weeks, but if anyone is interested I'll get copies out when we return. The profits go to restoration of the quaint little stone gothic church on Main St. of Anna (St. Anne's Episcopal). Check out our website at www.pastonline.org . She is buried at Anna State Mental Hospital. I have been told that a portion of the cemetery was destroyed by a former employee. Can anyone tell me anything about this destruction. I have been unable to determine the extent of the destruction from Choate. Also anything about a fire that destroyed the records of residents from 1900 - 1934. She died in 1934 at Anna.

    1. Important information regarding the elimination of NHPRC
    2. Carrol Mick
    3. Hello Everyone, This is Carrol Mick Volunteer County Host for Iroquois and Ford Counties in Illinois at Illinois Trails. I wanted to pass this on to you as this is very important issue regarding history and family history. Please read this information on the President's plan to eliminate the National Historical Publications & Records Commission. Thanks, Carrol Mick [email protected] http://www.savearchives.org/ This archival heritage is at risk. The president's proposed budget for FY 2006 eliminates the National Historical Publications & Records Commission (NHPRC), the only grant-making body in the federal government with a focus on archives. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), NHPRC's parent agency, will also be challenged to meet demands in other important areas. What kinds of projects are at risk? What can you do to help save NHPRC? Submit public testimony from your institution or association to the House Subcommittee that will hold hearings on April 26. See Action Alert and Guidelines for Preparing Public Testimony. FAX letters to members of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees and express your concern about this threat to our nation's archival heritage. See Action Alert and Guidelines for Writing to Congress on this issue. Get details on how to write and whom to contact. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
