I am looking for any information on Robert H. Barnard who live on Holland St. in Washington City, Tazewell County. From what I gather from the 1900 census it appears that he was in real estate. His son Lincoln appears to have worked for his father as a real estate agent. In 1900 others also living in the house on Holland St. were Rachel, Robert's wife, Mary Brennan their daughter, Elvina Barnard-their daughter and John Chaffer-Rachel's brother. Until getting the 1900 census information I always thought that Robert was a farmer. I am not sure if he had a real estate business that was located in Washinton City, or what capacity of real estate that he worked in. Does anyone have a 1900 city directory for Washington City and if so is there a real estate business listing Barnards'? Thanks for any help that you can provide.
