Dear List, I am searching for clues regarding my great great grandfather, William Phillips. He resided in the city of Pekin at the time of the 1860 census when he was 50 years old (House #216: William Phillips, along with Anna, aged 27 & born in NY--possibly his second or third wife; and his daughters Ester, aged 17, and Amanda, aged 15, both born in Ohio (probably Newark, Licking County). I do not have a death date for William and am trying to find out if he may have died or may be buried in Pekin. What are some of the older and larger Pekin cemeteries that may have been in use during the period from roughly 1870-1890? Are there any Pekin cemetery records from this time period that may be searched in either online or in paper format? I would appreciate any help in determining if William died while a resident of Pekin. He was father of my great grandmother, Louise Phillips, who married Dr. Frank (Francis) Keefer in Tazewell Co. in 1855. Any help appreciated! Susan Carlson
