    3. Does someone have information about the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, Tazewell County? Is there a listing of who is buried there? I have been trying so hard to find the burial place of my gg-grandfather Robert Barnard from Deer Creek. I also believe that his wife Rachel and son Irving are buried there. Robert was a farmer in Deer Creek for many years. I think his son Irving took over the farm when Robert got old. That is a guess, but Irving remained in Deer Creek while the other children moved to different states. I would be so grateful to anyone who can help me with this family. I have hit a brick wall in my research on them. I just know that there is probably tons of information on them in the local library or genealogy club but I live in WA. state and IL is a long way from me. I know that Robert lived in Deer Creek from the 1860's through the 1880's and probably longer. Thank you for any help that you can give me. 3. Hello Hazel, Mount Zion Cemetery is located in Woodford County, not Tazewell. It is a couple of miles northeast of Deer Creek, Illinois; just inside the Woodford County line from Tazewell County. Eureka is the county seat of Woodford County. Mt. Zion is a fairly small cemetery and I'd be happy to check it out for you if you'd like, but won't be able to do so until Sunday afternoon due to my work schedule. I'm sure that someone in Deer Creek has the cemetery records. The telephone number for the Village Hall is (309) 447-6749. Possibly someone there can lead you to the cemetery records. 3. Hi Hazel, I didn't have much luck at Mt. Zion cemetery this evening for you. I did not find any Barnards there for you. There are quite a few very old and weathered stones that I could not read. There is a series of Woodford County cemetery books. I believe that Peoria Public Library has them in their genealogy section. The phone number for the library is (309) 686-3517. There is usually a volunteer in the genealogy room and I believe they would do a lookup for you. You also might try the Eureka Library; they also have some genealogical items. That phone number is (309) 467-2922. Karas Hazel E Murray wrote: > Does someone have information about the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, > Tazewell County?
