    1. [ILTAZEWE] Help on figuring out birth dates
    2. Cheryl, Can you or anyone help me figure out a date of birth based on a date of death? My great great grandmother died May 24, 1938. She was 89 years, 4 months and 27 days old when she died. Apparently, there is some trick to figuring this out. Do you know? Also, thank you for the lookup on the census for the KIEF family. I looked on the Ancestry.com census for Logan county that they have downloaded and all they show is a Chestervale in Logan. Is this an error? Thanks for the help! Tammy Russell

    3. I really can't explain Ancestry.com. Chester is a township. Chestervale was a train station and elevator in Chester Township -- there was NEVER a town there. I'd guess, and this is only a guess from looking at the neighbors, that your ancestors lived on the east side of Chester Township, closer to Aetna. I suggest you subscribe to the Logan list and take this up there. The 1878 Logan history has two Kiefs -- John and Charles -- living in Broadwell Township with a PO of Lincoln. Both were from Germany. In the 1886 history there is a Philip Kief who was born in Minnesota of German born parents. There is a Michael Kief who married a Flick. Did we have this conversation? I've had it with someone. You really need to discuss Logan County on the Logan list. There may be Kief researcher there. Cheryl Rothwell LoganCty@mindspring.com

    3. Since, you were talking about Kief's, I noticed there was a picture for adoption on the web site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~adoptaphoto/ This picture was from Logan Co. and was listed with the surname Kief. I thought it might be of some interest.
