    3. Karen, Recording of Marriages in Tazewell County was required from the time the county was formed in 1827. Therefore, marriage records during the 1850-1860's are considered "relatively" complete. So, the fact you didn't find them at IRAD is a strong indicator that they probably married outside of Tazewell County. I also checked our own marriage index and did not find an entry for John & Amelia there either.
