I just learned that my ancestor, Ida Gerdes FLOHR, married Menne Andreas WARNKES in Nov of 1880 in Tazewell Co and not in Woodford Co as the family history had it (undocumented, of course). In the summer of that year, she was listed as a servant in the house of someone who lived in Linn Twp, Woodford Co and he was listed as living with his parents in Clayton Twp, Woodford Co. Was there more than meets the eye to their getting married in Tazewell Co instead of Woodford Co or was it just closer and/or easier or something boring like that? I don't know and probably never will. But I would like to get a copy of their marriage record and am wondering how easy or difficult a task that might be.
