    3. If you have an immigrant ancestor living and in the 1920 census it may be a treasure trove for you. The 1920 census asks for the year of naturalization for all naturalized citizens, the birthplace of each parent [as do all censuses beginning in 1880] and, of course, the person's birthplace. It asks the person's native language, the language of the parents and whether the person now speaks English. It also asks the immigration year and the number of years in the US. It asks if you own or rent and if you own is the mortgage paid. And this is in addition to the regular census questions.
