    3. Cheryl, Thank you for this wonderful information. This fall I had tried without success to find minutes of churches and associations in Greene Co., Ohio; perhaps this will help me track some down. It appears from this, that J. Lucas is in fact this same Joseph Lucas, as he was one of the three messengers from Pleasant Grove Church in Tazewell Co., to bear the request from the church for admittance into the Sangamon Association in September 1833. P. P. Lucas was one of three messengers appointed in 1835. I don't have my list of members of Lake Fork church at home, but will try to check to see where my entry came from, tomorrow. I show a Joseph Lucas as a member of Bethel Indian Grove Church, but his name appears in the association minutes of 1880, which could well mean a later generation Joseph Lucas than the one referred to above. This Joseph Lucas was chosen as a messenger several times, the latest I have record of was in 1888. This church, at this time, was not in McLean Co. (although it originally - 1832 - was located in that county), but by 1860 this church had moved its regular meetings to Indian Grove in Livingston County, south of Fairbury. More later, after I have opportunity to check my entry on Lake Fork.
