Greetings, I'm a new lister planning my first trip to Tazewell Co. and thought I would ask for a few tips. The differences from one county to another can be amazing. One county courthouse can be a delight, with the staff anxious to please and ready to drag out whatever dusty records you want to see. Another county may be completely indifferent to family research and no help at all. So, what are my best bets in Tazewell? How about the local libraries? Is the county clerk agreeable to dumb questons? I'll appreciate any suggestions offered . Barb Eufinger St. Louis, MO surnames: FITZGERALD, O'CONNELL
Barb, I am located here in Taz. county. What towns are you interested in??? If you need any local info please let me know. As far as research goes, my family is all located on the east coast, so I can not be of any help there. I am in Minier(se part of Taz. county) Kim ----- Original Message ----- From: <Eubara@aol.com> To: <ILTAZEWE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2001 1:26 PM Subject: [ILTAZEWE] first trip to Tazewell > Greetings, > > I'm a new lister planning my first trip to Tazewell Co. and thought I would > ask for a few tips. Hi Kim and Barb The people at the court house are very friendly. The Pekin Public Library has some things. Your best bet would be the Tazewell County Genealogical and Historical Society. You can view their web page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~iltcghs. The librarians are very easy to work with and very friendly. Hope this helps Linda Dickson kim fontaine wrote: > Barb, > I am located here in Taz. county. What towns are you interested in??? If you > need any local info please let me know.
