Dear List members, We have now completed eighty Illinois County Family History Links on our website. We will make further updates as we receive more church records, which is a constant ongoing task. We are now preparing to enter the same type of data, church history and family surnames of members information, for counties in Iowa, and have already entered our information for five counties in Wisconsin. We have the research either complete or well underway for Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, but in Missouri, Kentucky, and Indiana, we have a great deal more original research work to do, and will appreciate help from anyone who knows of the existence of Primitive Baptist church records or membership lists for those states. We have made enough revision and addition to our whole website, to warrant giving you the URL addresses again, in case you wish to check our site again, or see it for the first time. We encourage you to write on the guest books which are at the bottom of two or three of our webpages. Here are the website addresses: Our main homepage (with links to research completed and/or in progress for several states): http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html Or, for Illinois counties, go directly to: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/FamHist.html Best wishes, Elder Robert Webb The Primitive Baptist Library Carthage, Illinois ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Is there someone on the list who lives in Washington TWP and is willing to take a picture of my gg-grandparents graves at Glendale cemetery? I would love to have a picture of their final resting place. Their names are: Rachel Barnard died 1913 and Robert H. Barnard died 1920. At least two of the children are buried by them, Lincoln A. Barnard and Elvina (not sure of the spelling) Barnard. I will be most grateful to anyone who is willing to do this for me. Thank you. I am looking for any information on Robert H. Barnard who live on Holland St. in Washington City, Tazewell County. From what I gather from the 1900 census it appears that he was in real estate. His son Lincoln appears to have worked for his father as a real estate agent. In 1900 others also living in the house on Holland St. were Rachel, Robert's wife, Mary Brennan their daughter, Elvina Barnard-their daughter and John Chaffer-Rachel's brother. Until getting the 1900 census information I always thought that Robert was a farmer. I am not sure if he had a real estate business that was located in Washinton City, or what capacity of real estate that he worked in. Does anyone have a 1900 city directory for Washington City and if so is there a real estate business listing Barnards'? Thanks for any help that you can provide. Fellow listers, Here’s an appeal to all of you to pull out the copies of the SSAN application forms you already have filed away in your "stuff" and post them at Rootsweb. I just did it for the ones I have and it’s really easy. :O) 1. Go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/ 2. Scroll down the home page to Social Security Death Index and click on it. 3. Enter the name of the person who is on the form you have into the search engine. 4. When the right entry comes up, go over to the far right and click on "Add Post-Em" link. 5. The "Fill in the blank" form will come up and you can type in the information just like it’s printed on the form you have in your hands! 6. Include all the information in the order that it is entered on the form, so that others have the advantage of all that information. NOTE: You don’t have to type in the SS Number for the person as the Rootsweb program includes it. Since the cost of these forms will be increasing substantially next week, it would be good if EVERYONE put out the information they already have. Then whoever else is searching for that same person won’t be required to pay the new price for the same form you have in your files. And vice-versa! If we all "plant seed," we’ll all get the crop! And thank Goodness for Rootsweb providing this service to all of us for FREE! Be well & God bless, Kate Beaugrand Cook Minnesota kbcook@cfaith.com or k.b.cook@worldnet.att.net
Hi, I am looking for James Daniel Bowles and his descendants. James Daniel was my great-grandfather, Nathan Anderson Bowles, brother. He was born on August 14, 1882 in Barren County, Kentucky and died on Feb 6, 1946. He died either in Minier or in the surrounding area. His wife was Ann Riddle Bowles. I do not birth date for her. She died January of 1946 in the same area as her husband. They had two sons. Ervin Bowles who married Sally and Kenneth Bowles who married Ruth. I have no dates on them but I believe that they are died, too. I am assuming that their wives were from Tazewell County. I would appreciate any information on this family. Thanks, George Tinoco
I just thought I would spread the word that the fees for getting a copy of a Social Security Application are going up drastically on 1 July 2001. If you apply before then you will be charged the old amount which is now $7 if you know the number, and $16.50 if you do not. The new fees are posted at: http://www.ssa.gov/foia/foia_guide.htm It appears that the increases are more than substantial, they are gigantic. This means that the time for procrastination is over. The address you need to send them to is: Social Security Administration Office of Central Records Operation Attention: Freedom of Information Workgroup PO Box 17772 300 N. Greene Street Baltimore, MD 21290 Kate Beaugrand Cook Minnesota kbcook@cfaith.com or k.b.cook@worldnet.att.net

Hi List, I was curious about Deer Creek so I stopped there tonight coming home from work and asked Ivan over at the Zepher station if Deer Creek was in Tazewell or Woodford County. Ivan said Deer Creek was in Tazewell County and the gals over at Hucks said so too. When I helped with the census I was told Deer Creek was in Tazewell. Mt. Zion, they weren't so sure about. Smiles, Denise
It looks like whoever does the McLean County government web site [NOT to be confused with the ILGenWeb site] could use some construction help. <g> Apparently you have to wade through and drill down rather than going directly to where you want to go. I guess it increases the number of hits. Ok, you need to go to: http://www.mclean.gov/ and up at the top click on Departments. On the pull down menu chose CIRCUIT CLERK. A page should come up with a picture of Sandra Parker. If it doesn't you have the wrong page. On the left side of the page under information the second choice is Immigration Records. Click on it and you are in. Sorry for the confusion. Complain to lee@mclean.gov <g> Cheryl Rothwell LoganCty@mindspring.com
Last week I told you about the 1880 census CDs from the LDS. There was some discussion from others about long backorders and so on. I ordered mine online on June 11 and they arrived today. I can't do lookups at the moment. Please don't ask. Maybe I will in the future but at the moment learning to be a widow takes almost the energy I have. Cheryl Rothwell LoganCty@mindspring.com
