I apologise for posting this to the list, but I have been unable to find a listing of persons who will do look ups in Stephenson Co. I have a great deal of information on James and Elizabeth Hart, early settlers in Steph.Co., and their children. The parents of Elizabeth, however, remain a mystery. It seems that an obit.or biographical material should be available in Stevenson Co. that would shed some light on this. They came from Ky. and settled in Florence Twp. 3 miles W. of Freeport in 1837. Coming with them, among others, was Elizabeth's Brother, Thomas C. Gatliff. All owned land in Florence Twp. Co. # 89 (Illinois Land Records) Another brother, Reece B. Gatliff was with them as well. Any information would be appreciated, and I am willing to pay any fee.----Ron
