I have recently come into possession of a German/English Bible, that I reason to believe has ties to Carroll and Stephenson Counties. It was published in 1852. It has a notation written in pencil, which states that it is the possession of Jacob Lohr as of 1855. Later in the book is the hand written name of Sadie M. Dieffenderfer or it could be Dieffendorfer. Moisture, mildew, extensive use and age have damaged portions of this book, but the Gothic print is still a very attractive feature of this publication.
