Ellis Askey's farm adjoined the farm of Samuel Moyer, brother of my great-grandfather, south of Ridott.. Samuel came from Campbelltown, Lebanon Co PA, moved to Centre Co PA at the time of his marriage, and moved to a farm SW of Ridott in 1863. His youngest child Lucetta (or Luzetta) Moyer (1 Oct 1856, Centre Co PA - 29 Dec 1935, Bassett NE) married the neighbor's son John Thomas Askey (8 Nov. 1847, Howard, Centre Co PA - 23 Oct 1923, Red Oak, Montomgery Co IA), and they and their descendants are all of interest to my research. I would be eager to learn about Eliza Fox's parents and other ancestors. Can you inform me? I would also be very interested in a list of the family of Ellis Askey and thus how you are descended from that couple. Have you been to Ridott? Some years ago I walked through waist-high grass in the small family cemetery behind a school-become-house to their burial site, only to find their stone, a tall "shaft" type of stone, tumbled to the ground. Fortunately, I could read some of the lettering, which had not fallen face down to the ground. The cemetery, a private cemetery, needs some tender loving care!! If my memory is correct, I have a picture or two of the place, and if you've not been there, I would try to find the picture(s) and send you a copy. Cordially, Dr. Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA
