Hello, I have recently found some information on a g-g-grandfather, Samuel DANIELS, and his brother James DANIELS. A record that I found says that they enlisted on 4/6/63 and mustered into "D" Co. IL 12th Cavalry, and were both discharged for disability on 2/1/64. It also says that their residence was Freeport IL. Does this mean than they were living in Freeport in April 1863, or that this is where they came to enlist?
