I, too, am researching the Brown family, specifically, Sarah Brown, daughter of John Brown and Jane Hurley. Sarah Brown married Thomas Hathaway and they lived in Stephenson County from about 1840 until 1867. Jane Hurley Brown came to Stephenson Co. with Thomas and Sarah Brown Hathaway from Belmont and Monroe Counties in Ohio. This line of Browns were originally from PA (Greene Co.)
