Does anyone know what the Knights & Ladies of Honor would have been in the mid 1800s? This is a fraternal organization, but I can't seem to locate the purpose & affiliation (if any) for it in any thing I search. Thanks.

Hello, I am new to the list and am looking for the following people. James Murray and Flora Ann Barklow were married in Stephenson County, IL in 1850. Both of them were from Pennsylvania. They had 12 children, and in 1871 moved west to Jackson County, Oregon. I would appreciate to hear from anyone who has connections to this family or who could help me. Also, anyone who could do a lookup for me from the 1850 census, I'd be grateful. Thanks. Greetings, I am just now joining the list, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm searching the RAPP line, any RAPPS out there. Great Grandfather, George Nickolas RAPP b 26 Feb 1856 in Freeport, Stephensen, Illinois. His parents are recorded through family records as: John RAPP b 11 June 1819 in Germany, and Appelonia Hauser or Howser b 26 July 1826 in Germany. I am just now picking up on this line for my Father who is now deceased. I've done a good share of work on other lines, and look forward to working on this one, and being of any help I can to anyone else. Twila Sundall Willliams in Sunny Blue Skies Florida

Dear James and Konni, > My G-G-G-grandmother was Elizabeth "Eliza" [Fox] Askey, wife of Ellis Askey. > She was born in Pennsylvania, possibly in Tyrone 14 Feb 1824. She and Ellis > came to Ridott in Stephenson County from Pennsylvania around 1849. Eliza's > parents were John and Elizabeth Fox who were both born in Pennsylvania. She > allegedly had some Germany ancestry. Could it be that Lydia and Eliza were > sisters or cousins? Hope this can help you somehow. Good luck! > James > This message caught my eager eye! Ellis Askey's farm adjoined the farm of Samuel Moyer, brother of my great-grandfather, south of Ridott.. Samuel came from Campbelltown, Lebanon Co PA, moved to Centre Co PA at the time of his marriage, and moved to a farm SW of Ridott in 1863. His youngest child Lucetta (or Luzetta) Moyer (1 Oct 1856, Centre Co PA - 29 Dec 1935, Bassett NE) married the neighbor's son John Thomas Askey (8 Nov. 1847, Howard, Centre Co PA - 23 Oct 1923, Red Oak, Montomgery Co IA), and they and their descendants are all of interest to my research. I would be eager to learn about Eliza Fox's parents and other ancestors. Can you inform me? I would also be very interested in a list of the family of Ellis Askey and thus how you are descended from that couple. Have you been to Ridott? Some years ago I walked through waist-high grass in the small family cemetery behind a school-become-house to their burial site, only to find their stone, a tall "shaft" type of stone, tumbled to the ground. Fortunately, I could read some of the lettering, which had not fallen face down to the ground. The cemetery, a private cemetery, needs some tender loving care!! If my memory is correct, I have a picture or two of the place, and if you've not been there, I would try to find the picture(s) and send you a copy. Cordially, Dr. Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA
