I work at the history room at the library, but the library is going to be closed next week for "automation"???Anyway if you can wait a few weeks, as there a couple of weeks that I will be unavailable, I will look up info that the history room has, I do know that one of the Vaupel's married a Edward Seitz, Will be glad to check things out, but will not be able to do it for a couple of weeks, if that's ok with you. The history room charges 20 cents for copies and $1.00 for any birth, marriage or death record. I am trying to locate my gr-gr-uncle George Lubbers who probably lived in Freeport about 1900. He was born in 1864 and came to the US with his parents Hinderk (Henry) lubbers and Antje Brinken Garrels Lubbers in 1868. Anna died in 1876 and Hinderk in 1878, both in Freeport of Stephenson County. I have no record of where they are buried or the exact date of their deaths. All of their other children came to Grundy and Franklin County, Iowa and some then to South Dakota. George was married to Regina Vaupel and died a "Young Man". This is all I know of him. Does anyone have access to the 1900 Illinois Census Soundex to see if George is still listed and had any children. Also any other Cemtery records or the like for George, Regina, and his parents Hinderk and Anna. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide. I have hit the "BRICK WALL" on this one. Re: thursday evening Genealogy Chats: Dear Lou, While it has been several months since I joined in one Genealogy chat; I regret being away or unavailable for more involvement. Unfortunately I tend to forget, until it is too late. You are very good about reminding every one through the Rootsweb.com process. Unfortunately I usually don't get my ILSTEPHE_L@rootsweb.com mailing until Friday morning. By then it is too late. Is it possible to get those out a day earlier?? I would like to add a Family Link, or request to have my Family listed for research if possible. In as much as they were known inhabitants of Stephenson County for about 45 years, and many of them are buried in the Cemetery at Lena, I would like to add them for further note. The families are those of Levi J. Reynolds and his wife Mary Hill, daughter of John Hill. They came to Erin and Kent townships from Ripley, Chautauqua County, New York about 1845. Several children lived there, to Include: Orville Frank Reynolds (later moved to Mt. Carroll), Melvia Reynolds who married back into the Hill family, by marrying Hiram Hill (Jr. or II); Thomas Benson Reynolds, who married Paulina Eleanor Cobb, and Mary Reynolds who married Jerome Seabury. My grandfather and his older brother were also born in or about Lena. His name was Bion Orville Reynolds, and his older brother was Elmer Jerome Reynolds. Mary Hill Reynolds, had several siblings also of Stephenson Co., namely David B. Hill, and Elijah Hill, and several others. I have been in contact with both Marge Schultz, and a couple of others there, in Lena and Freeport, who have been very helpful. But of course one never gets enough material on their own family. Thanks for keeping this web thing from Stephenson co. going. Respectfully yours, Glenn Glenn G. Reynolds M.D. 8023 Shirley Ave. Gig Harbor, WA 98332 Phone: 1(253)- 858-6031
