List, Great news, the first 100 rolls of probate case files for St. Clair are now in the drawers at the Belleville Public Library (BPL) http://www.compu-type.net/rengen/stclair/BPL.htm An additional 110 rolls of intestate reels should arrive by mid-July. Separate indexes are also at the BPL: Probate Record-Wills [originals,, earliest, not court copy in record book] Rolls 1-50 Non-Probated Wills [most in 1960s, 1970s] Rolls 1-6 Probate Records of the Circuit Clerk [Estates, early] Rolls 1-44. Several researchers have expressed their support and thanks for this project by donating towards purchase of a probate roll in memory of an ancestor or ancestors.
